YouTube

I truly feel YouTube is ridiculously powerful, but I help make it that way. I use YouTube at least once every day. Whether it is looking to listen to music or searching for funny videos to post on my friends’ Facebook walls, I am constantly on it. I say it is ridiculously powerful, though, because it makes people rich! Or at least that’s what people say. Let’s take, for an example, the guy that was interviewed about his sister almost getting raped in Chicago, he used the exact words, “Well obviously we have a rapist in Lincoln Park. He’s climbing in your windows; he’s snatching your people up trying to rape them. So ya’ll need to hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband, because they’re rapin everyone out here.”

Those few, outrageous words made him rich from all the YouTube hits he got, and not only that, but people made his interview into a rap song that reached well over millions of views. (41, 174, 809 to be exact). They made an “iTunes version” of his interview, which has gotten 22, 873, 822 views!

He isn’t the only example of this. There are several other people who have gotten well known all over the world from YouTube videos. Some are funny, some are sad, some are cruel, and some are just idiotic. Despite what they are, millions of people view them and comment whatever they please on them. I say it’s ridiculous, but although I am not commenting on these videos, I do view them. I personally think YouTube is a great site, but I think people mistreat it with certain videos they post. It’s amazing how people’s lives can change just from a two minute video. I’m still brainstorming a unique idea for a video and maybe I can become rich because of it. Ha, I wish!
