He loves Craigslist more than he loves me!

So, I am encouraged to blog more about new media topics. I'm not really good at wrapping my mind around my thoughts toward these topics but I will give it a try. One I can definitely discuss and an idea we discussed in class is Craigslist and how my boyfriend loves that site more than he loves me. It annoys the hell out of me.

Let's just say its true that you can start out with basically selling a paperclip and endi up with a car. I hands down admit Craigslist offers great deals and opportunities for people who are looking for a good buy. But there are those people who eat, breathe, and sleep Craigslist...literally. Take my boyfriend for an example.

<---- Yep, that's him! Happy as can be!

When he wakes up in the morning, he either sits at his desk on his lap top, or lays in bed and uses his net book, either way he's always on the computer and on Craigslist. In fact, instead of North Central or Google, his homepage on both his computers is Craigslist. When he is finished with homework, he rewards himself with hours of scrolling through new posts, when he's mad, he searches through deals on trucks and other sorts of cars to calm himself down. When we are about to watch TV, he has to get caught up with the most recent offers.

I try and hold a conversation with him, and he won't say anything, so I'll look at him to see if he's even paying attention, and whadya know, hes on Craigslist. He cares more about whats posted than what I have to say. Then I'll ask him to get off, or at least take a break and the answer is always, "Give me five more minutes." followed by an adorable puppy dog face.

Now I don't hate Craigslist that much, considering it has gotten me an iTouch, Tablet, new TV, and several cameras, all brand new. My boyfriend clearly doesn't believe in going to the over priced Best Buy. As for him, where to begin? Since I have been with him he has been through three trucks, four motorcycles, several four wheelers, plows, a mustang, two boats, and many other gadgets that I cannot think of off the top of my head. I have visited many random locations, including scary ones, to trade with people he's never met. Yes, we watched The Craigslist Killer together, but that still doesn't phase him.

Yes, Craigslist is a wonderful site that provides people with a variety of offers, but there comes a point where it is too much. I truly mean it when I say I think my boyfriend loves Craigslist more than he loves me, and when I share this with him, he laughs....hmmmm.
