Jason Kottke’s interview seemed most interesting to me with his outspoken and blunt personality. He seemed as though he did not hold anything back and said what came to his mind when asked questions. Following that, to be honest his quotes really stuck out to me; I agreed with what he said and was rather intrigued by the way he shared his ideas. Not only that, but his views of blogging and what it means to his life were incredibly appealing to me; I never knew blogging was that extreme or life changing. I would have to say his interview was an interesting learning experience for me.
His life seems interesting but at the same time very original. Which to be honest made me like him even more because it was easy to relate to him. During his interview when he stated, “Is it a good thing when you can't tell the difference between work, play, an addiction, or a hobby?” he really made me think, and that is a great question, is it a good thing? Following that, with the fact that blogging brought him to his wife and is what puts food on his table, it makes me look at blogging a whole different way.
I am going to be honest, yes I heard the term blog quit a lot, but I never really knew what it meant or what the point of it was. I didn’t take it seriously or that I needed to for that matter. Now, after reading his interview and scanning others interviews, I see blogging is an interesting, addicting, meaningful way of writing, and let’s face it, I love to write. Should I become a blogger? I am someone who is open to new things, maybe, like Jason, I could make my life out of something with blogging, then again, maybe I can just say I should and never try doing it myself. More importantly, Jason Kottke’s interview was a fun thing to read. To sum up, I thoroughly enjoyed his statement, “As in design and editing, I find the process of blogging is more about what you take away than what you leave”.
